Sidetracked….

I haven’t updated in quite some time.  Never fear,  I am still dating!  But last week a beautiful,  happy, healthy girl came into my life – I’m an Auntie!!  One of my closest friends had a sweet baby and I’ve been a bit preoccupied.

I have several posts to write to get caught up to present time, so keep an eye out over the next day or two!

Date #26 – fo reals this time

Date 26 finally happened tonight!  We met at a local ice cream parlor, which I thought was unusual and fun.  Most meet & greets seem to take place in bars, so this was a fun alternative. Besides, you can’t help but have  lovely time while eating ice cream, right? Regardless, I knew this would be fun as I was informed that “nerdy casual” was the dress code of the evening.

Dressed in jeans and my Boba Fett in Sarlacc Pit t shirt, I headed to the parlor.

Mr. 26 was a perfect gentleman – he kindly paid the tab over my offer to split the check.  The conversation was fun,  we found out a lot of things in common and similiar personality quirks, and he was not-so-gently teasing me towards the end of our evening.

As we walked to our cars, he asked if he could see me again.  Huzzah!  We agreed to see each other again,  and left it at that. He walked me to my car,  opened the door for me, and asked me to text him when I arrived home safely.

Mr. 26 is the type of guy I go for – Smart, accomplished, able to banter with me. Someone who exudes a veneer of respectability to the world, but inside holds a lot more than most will ever see.

I like complicated.  I like being able to peel away the onion layers and get to the core.  A wolf in sheep’s clothing? Yes, please.

Mr. 26 has potential.

Date #26

Alas, date #26 had to be rescheduled due to travel issues. He was delayed returning to town,  however he called me several hours before the date was to start to explain the situation, apologize,  and suggest we reschedule later this week.

I was thoroughly charmed, and agreed to jog some things around this week to make that happen.

A phone call, with sincerity, will go a lot further with me than a text message in this scenario. #26 just moved up to possible “Gentleman” status.

Men, take notes.

Hello World!

Thanks for stopping by and welcome to my new blog! I decided to start a blog because I’ve been dating  since July 2013, using only online dating sites and social media to meet people.  My friends think the stories of my dating (mis) adventures are funny and have encouraged me to share these with the world. I plan on posting tales of dates, ridiculous messages and dating tips gathered over the the course of my dating career.  All names and identifying information will be changed,  mainly so I am somewhat protected from legal intervention, and to protect the guys from any sort of embarrassment as well. That’s it for now! If you’d like to be kept updated with my posts “Like” this post or subscribe to my blog.

25 Dates since July

I started dating in July 2013, and since then I’ve dated 25 men. Most were first dates only,  some went to dates #2 & 3, and one lucky winner I dated for 6 whole weeks!

You’re probably wondering what the issue is, and why I’m so picky.  Maybe you’re thinking the problem is me.  While I freely admit to my own baggage and issues, let me break down the realities of dating post 40.

I find there are 4 basic groups of people who are single after age 40.
